Lets give it a try, why not?

Being from a road running background, the craving for a combination of Mountain Biking and road running arises from my inner adrenalin filled soul, and what better than "Trail Running". Ya Ya I know...........but that is for sissies man. Oo neeee, toe nie.

Look at some of these fodies, that is exactly what and where I want to find myself, this is awesome. And for the record, it is intense as well.

And now the question.......but how?

Let me explain, its quite eenvoudig, sell my Steed (Panty) and buy all the required gear needed and then just do it. Its like life.........simple and straight forward. If not now......when???

I intend to take this bull by the horns and bring it down baby. I already entered for my very first ever trail run......the Thule 4 Peaks 24km trail run. Do I need to train? ooo ja pappie, its compulsory some would say. LOL

And I would love to see the same support from my blog readers as I did during my 700km Ride to Rhodes + 2. HaHaHa. Its gonna be awesome.
My objective is to just enjoy every moment of my life and make it count, and to obtain that...I need to follow my heart. Don't know about you, but I love my heart quite a lot, he brought me this far didn't he?

So check this space for some awesome pics from my "Thule 4 Peaks trail run. Start on the 24 August 2013 for 2 days. And then for the big one in November "Solomon Sky Run.

To get back to my gear. I am struggling to make up my mind between these two gentlemen.......any help to make my choice?

See you out there. Have an awesome one.
Yours in family

  1. Aah 4Peaks !!! 'n Lekke 5 hour+ run, just to cover 24km. No more road running for you boet, get use to the camber and the loose stuff.

Excellent training for the Freedom, you will portage yourself over those peaks and the Saffinator will make your lungs burn and your legs will suffer.

Great fun and awesome views !!!

and then the Sky, one day when I'm old enough....

  2. Thanks a million Marnitz.
Did the 15km twice yesterday, looking like a pro....all the new gear and my Solomon Speedcross 3 trail tekkies. Felt like a million bucks.

Results were as follow; first 800m of the first attempt (Running the 15km track)stopped at the top due to lung, heart, liver, kidney and brain failure not to speak of the muscles shutting down. LOL

So I thought about it and come to the conclusion that trail running is much more tension on the body than cycling. So I halve'd my pace and tried a gain. It went much better. My second one went fluently and I gained some speed and skills, jumping like a klipspringertjie. LOL.

My only concern is the blisters on my freeken toes????? I mean WTH? Hopefully either my toes will be grinded shorter or the shoes will shape accordingly. The size is perfect. Wearing a 11 and bought a 12.

    But overall, its great fun.
