It soaked from the word go right to the end.
So we started and 2 km into the race the action began, punctures, punctures, punctures........................... everywhere cyclists were standing fixing punctures. (Dubbeltjies galo).
The roads were wet and full of sand, leading to excessive brake pad wear and tear. My brakes failed 20 km into the race. The next day, stripping my Steed, I was not prepared for what i was about to see. Steel on steel, no padding left. Although the race was hard and somewhat unusual, it was a lot of fun.
I fell twice in the first 5 km due to the mud and water pools. LOL

The kids also had a lot of fun, not finishing though but still managed to enjoy the outie.
