For me personally I
would have to say that it is the physical and mental challenge involved and the
ability to survive on the correct drive, motivation and determination.
The opportunity and
the privilege to be a part of something bigger than myself that encourages a
mindset change and the working towards a better South Africa. It is also
an opportunity to meet like-minded people, have loads of fun during the event
and to appreciate the magnificent and beautiful scenery that our country so
boldly hosts.
It is going to be
cold… it is going to be uncomfortable at times. It is going to be challenging…
but it is going to be like a normal day in the life of many South Africans!!
- 23 Oct 2012 - Entered for the Freedom Challenge (RASA)
- 24 Oct 2012 - Send entry form and photo for submit ion. (Feeling a bit of excitement now)
- 26 Oct 2012 - Do not have enough leave days, have to take unpaid leave...............mmmmmmmm? wait a bit, let's talk to my Boss who by the way is a very big strict person. He agreed ☺☺☺☺ (Now i feel a bid more exited, small goose bumps and one or two hairs raised)
Now the big planning which includes a bit of training i think LOL.
I requested a quotation from "Bester Cycles Pretoria", they have given me the best service for a long time, and then it's off to the big hunt for sponsors. (Who must be insane bay the way)

I'm doing this challenge to make my sons proud of their dad and to lead by example with the hope, that one day my two boys as MTB pioneers will compete in this very same challenge (with me off course).
